1. About us

Cash Shop is licensed as a payday lender in Ontario under the Payday Loans Act, 2008 (licence no. 4738323). You can view our licence here. We also offer gold buying, Western Union money transfers, bill payments, mobile top-ups, tax refund services, car loans, and first and second mortgages.

2. Information only

The Website gives general information about our services. Nothing on it is an offer of credit, a loan approval, or financial, legal or tax advice. Every service is provided in person at our store and depends on eligibility, identity verification and a written agreement. If anything on the Website differs from an agreement you sign with us, the agreement applies.

We are not processing loans online. We do not accept loan applications, documents or payments through the Website.

3. Who can use our services

Our services are available to people who are at least 18 years old. Our lending services are available only to residents of Ontario. See our Geolocation Controls for how we confirm where our customers are located.

4. Cost of borrowing

Payday loans are high-cost loans. Please borrow responsibly.

Our cost of borrowing for a payday loan is $14.00 per $100 advanced. On a $500 loan for 14 days, the total amount to repay is $570, the total cost of borrowing is $70, and the annual percentage rate (APR) is 365%. This is the maximum allowed under the Payday Loans Act, 2008. Your loan agreement shows the exact cost of your loan before you sign.

Under Ontario law, you may cancel a payday loan agreement within two business days of receiving the money, without giving a reason and without paying any fee, by returning the full amount advanced.

Our other services, such as car loans and mortgages, have their own costs and terms. We will explain them before you sign anything.

The Website, including its text, logos, graphics and design, belongs to Cash Shop or is used with permission. Western Union and its logo are trademarks of their owner and are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own personal use only.

The Website links to websites we do not control, such as Western Union, Google and WhatsApp. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

We work to keep the Website accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors or viruses.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Cash Shop and its owners, staff and agents are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Website, or from relying on its content.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002, the Payday Loans Act, 2008, or any other law that cannot be waived.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about the Website will be handled by the courts of Ontario. For a complaint about one of our services, please follow our Complaint and Dispute Resolution Policy.

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a new version on this page. If you keep using the Website after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
